[opensuse-kde] KUserFeedback - how to deinstall?
Hi together, I read about the (bad) idea to integrate telemetrie data in dolphin at (in German): https://linuxnews.de/2020/11/plasma-dateimanager-dolphin-unterstuetzt-teleme... Now I would deinstall KUserFeedback from tumbleweed, but seeams that this isn't possible w/o removing the main KDE/plasma. # zypper se KUserFeedback Retrieving repository 'Haupt-Repository (NON-OSS)' metadata ..................................................................................................................................................................................................[done] Building repository 'Haupt-Repository (NON-OSS)' cache .......................................................................................................................................................................................................[done] Retrieving repository 'Haupt-Repository (OSS)' metadata ......................................................................................................................................................................................................[done] Building repository 'Haupt-Repository (OSS)' cache ...........................................................................................................................................................................................................[done] Loading repository data... You don't need to uninstall KUserFeedback. Telemetry is *off* by default. -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team GPG key ID: A29D259B

Until what, exactly?

Uninstalling telemetry completely is not possible without rebuilding the packages. If telemetry being disabled by default is still not sufficient for you, you can disable it at the system level by adding a configuration file. See https://userbase.kde.org/KDE_System_Administration/Kiosk/Keys#Telemetry for details. If that's still not enough, you can also add a firewall rule to block traffic to telemetry.kde.org, or add an entry into your hosts file pointing to a local IP address. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
