Raphael, If you are using Plastik as your style setting, then change it! I was having the same problem, so went to another style which cleared up the 'trails' you see too. Guess someone will eventually clear up the Plastik style so we can use it again, I kinda like it too. Anyway, several people have complained about the same thing, so I'm guessing a bug report has been posted with the KDE folks. For now, select a different style and you should be ok. [snip] I don't have that make video, but I did see on the SUSE e-list that there are new drivers for your card. I'd suggest that you get a new driver. Fred -- "Running Windows on a Pentium is like getting a Porsche but only being able to drive it in reverse with the handbrake on."
I have the same SuSE 9.1 installation at home and at work using the latest KDE 3.3 from the SuSE supplementary tree. Only differences: @work I have latest XFree via YOU and an Intel 845 Graphic chip. This uses DRM similar to ATI. @home I have the Xorg Xserver from the supplementary tree and a Nvidia Geforce4 Ti At home, all is fine. At work I have similar problems as discribed when renaming files in konqueror with F2 (or right click menu -> rename) but only in Icon view. In list view, the rename works fine. DND I haven't seen any problems yet. But I don't use DND in the viewing mode like in the screenshot... My conclusion: It could be the video driver (DRM or not) or video card which makes the difference. Perhaps this helps finding more clues... Daniel Am Donnerstag, 2. It's not the video guys or the X server, it's the style Plastik. Don't use the Plastik style and you are ok. Many people have reported it, so hopefully the KDE folks will resolve it, but for now use another style. You are right - Plastik was ther evildoer. Similar effects in the root window are also disappeared. I switch now to the Thin Keramik with hope the guys from Plastik will fix it sone. Thanks to all for your replys and sorry for my broken en ;-) Ciao, Raphael

Perhaps Plastik in conjunction with video card / driver. I use KDE 3.3 on SuSE 9.1 updated from supplementary and I use Plastik and I have no problems here. It's a Nvidia Gforce4 Ti with Nvidia's closed source drivers running on Xorg. Only at work I have problems with the same sytem except i845 graphic and Xfree86. Daniel

Daniel, You got a bit carried away with your replys to this thread, didn't you? I count 4 at least! ;o) Just reply to the list, not everyone that has participated in it. We are all on the list so we read that mail, no need to send another to each of us. Thanks for your assistance. Hi Lee! Thanks for the hint. Didn't notice that. Changed icon theme recently and mixed up with reply to all and reply to list button. Greets, Daniel Am Samstag, 4. September 2004 03:17 schrieb BandiPat:
