[opensuse-kde] KDE packagers meeting at Akademy
Akademy, the annual conference and meetup of the KDE community, is happening at Brno, Czech Republic, from September 6 to 12, this year [1]. I thought this might be a great opportunity to bring together the team packaging KDE software for openSUSE for some workshop, hacking, discussing with upstream. KDE always has tried to keep a close relationship to the people packaging the software for users, and openSUSE clearly is one of the most relevant players here (some would say the most relevant ;-) What do you guys think? Would you be interested in having such a meeting at Akademy? What would you like to see to happen there? Feel free to reply here or to reach out to me privately to discuss this idea. I would be happy, if we can make it happen, to the mutual benefit of both, KDE and openSUSE. By the way, if there is something you would like to show or present at Akademy, the call for papers is still open [2]. Don't hesitate to send proposals there. The submission deadline is on Sunday this week. Unfortunately it overlaps *again* with other work-work conferences I have to attend to (like last year, a record ;), so it's out of my reach again this year....

What I said above notwithstanding, I think it's a great idea and it should be brought forward, if people of the team can come of course. ;) -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: 6E1A4E79

... And as was said in another thread, there are some KDE openSUSE people who want to be there, right? You can have a booth, it's free, just email akademy- team@kde.org once you've got a few volunteers/victims to take care of it :D /J -- Geekos are awesome!

I was having the idea to get a booth @akademy this year, and be there. Next week ( after fixing some emergencies ) I will propose that clearly and in form. +ask one of those fantastic booth boxes we have ... I will just need a fresh kde live image to burn on the usb key end of august. :-) -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Board GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot ~~~Don't take Life too serious.
