[opensuse-kde] KDE4 documentation files location
Normally openSUSE installs documentation files in the %{_docdir} directory, which resolves to /usr/share/doc/packages. Using this macro has the added advantage that all files marked with the %{_docdir} directory in the %files section get the %doc macro included by default. KDE packages, however, do not use this directory. Instead, /usr/share/doc/kde. This is different than the openSUSE standard, and as best as I can tell does not have the benefit of the automatic doc tagging (which is an issue because a lot of packages in KDF leave out the %doc macro). Is there a strong reason why this directory is used, as opposed to something like /usr/share/doc/packages/kde (i.e. %{_docdir}/kde)? Using the latter would make spec files easier to create and maintain and would remove a common source of (probably insignificant) errors, but obviously is a bad idea if there is a strong reason for the current location. This should not require any changes to other packages, and if it does I would be happy to take responsibility for fixing them. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
