Running SuSE 8.2 and KDE 3.1.1 I have imported birthdays into korganizer from kaddressbook. The import message says that it happened (with right number of birthdays imported). I can't see these on the korganizer screens...nothing in the calendar on the dates I'd expect...anyone help me out here? TIA Randy

I know that kaddressbook is using an odd birthday format which on my side also only makes trouble. It is in the format yyyy-mm-dd I have never seen any other programs using such a uncommon format so korganizer might have trouble understanding at as well. cu Stefan

I see the format yyyy-mm-dd used quite often. It is for example the native format of date-fields in jbuilder's jdatastore database. It makes a lot of sense, a string with a date in the format yyyy-mm-dd can get sorted easily without the need for any special date-logic. Regards, Matt

Regarding the order of year, month and day you are right. I use it myself but the point is that kaddressbook does not know how to handle the "-" sign. A "/" would be much better. Or a more intelligent import filter. BTW I am still struggling with the conversion of my addresses, especially the birthday date to be kaddressbook compatible afterwards. I think I have to use a combination of awk, sed and regular expression. Since everything is quite new for me any hint is appreciated. cu Stefan

FWIW this is the standard format in China. Jethro
