[opensuse-kde] Adding trash-can plasmoid to default kde desktop
I understand that the decision to not add the waste-bin plasmoid to the desktop was taken in the last meeting. However I request that this decision be revisited if possible. The reasons for my request are as follows:- 1. Apart from the fact that most people are used to seeing a bin on their desktops, whether they come from windows, or gnome, or from openSUSE versions 11.0 and before, it is cumbersome to open a file-manager just to clean up the bin which is what one will have to do if the plasmoid is not shown on the desktop. 2. Only from the plasmoid is it possible to set a limit on the amount of disk- space the bin is allowed to use. It is set to a default of 10 % of total disk- space, but this can be changed by right-clicking on the plasmoid and selecting Wastebin settings (or something similar). I could not find another place in KDE4 from where to change this default of 10%. How cumbersome is it for you to add the trashcan to where you want it, may it be panel or desktop. How cumbersome is to reach everytime on desktop?

Wrong, the same dialog is also available via Dolphin/Konqueror settings. Bye, Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Somewhat more cumbersome the first time around than finding it right on my desktop already. I would be grateful if you could just let me know the reasoning behind this decision. That apart, this is of course, just a trivial thing, so it is alright with me if it is settled.

Yes, you are right. I was looking at the wrong place, just trying to right click on the bin icon in the places sidebar and see if such a setting was reachable. Thanks for your response.
