[opensuse-kde] What is the difference between KDE 4.10 in openSUSE 12.3 using the two available possibilities for repositories
The wiki http://en.opensuse.org/KDE_repositories gives two possibilities to update KDE 4.10 to the latest version. One using the general oss-update repository and as an option for the extra packages: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_12.3/ The other possibility is to use: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/410/openSUSE_12.3/ and as an option for the Extra packages http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/KDE_Release_410_openSUS... I would expect these two options to deliver the same versions. However I used the last possibility and ended with kmail in which I could not change the font in the message panel. Maybe you haven't duped to KR410, or similar, as KR410 provides also some aditional libraries, etc, which where not updated for 12.3. At least SC packages are all exactly the same in 12.3 update, and KR410. There is one pending request for workspace in Update channel though, which should soon be available.

Freek, Both versions in Update and KDE410 are equal. As Hrvoje also indicated already. And both are 4.10.5. The rest that follows (the 1.100.2 and 1.1) are just sequential numbers to show the number of builds the package had, etc. This has nothing to do with the version number of the package. Updated the same page on the Dutch wiki. Thanks! Previously doing that I enabled these now removed repositories and observed the mentioned problem, which triggered my question. It looks like this problem is (also?) in KDE 4.11, so I will focus on that. -- fr.gr.
