Shriramana, I see the same thing happening on Mandriva 2006 (community) with KDE 3.5.1 (from SoS). Tested on a Reiser file system and indeed also on vfat (with mount option 'shortname=mixed'). Cannot test it on SuSE. Added it already on the kde-bugnr. Peter

I don't use zip files, I prefer *.tar.gz. However, I tried it anyway and the *.ZIP naming happened on my system as well. The capitalisation does not occur with the .tar.gz extension. Here is my info: SUSE 9.3 Professional SUSE-provided kernel: kernel-default-2.6.11.4-21.11 KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" Ark 2.6.1 ReiserFS: reiserfs-3.6.18-3 The .ZIP extension occurred on the following files: * OpenOffice.org Base (*.odb) * A directory Hope this helps, Alvin -- Please reply to the list.

I don't know what exactly is the problem of a capital letter extension, but it also occurs on my SuSE 10 box with KDE 3.5.1. :) Patrick -- Patrick Trettenbrein - patrick.trettenbrein@kdemail.net GnuPG fingerprint: 312B 561F B0E9 1DB5 CE5B A9CB 831A 1994 E9A3 0010
