Hello SuSE people,
Trying to upgrade kde 3.5.5 to 3.5.7 on 10.2 After fighting with a Kmail crashing problem for two weeks (finally solved) a new problem has raised it's ugly head.
Upon trying to open an application I get a message "Could not find mime-type application /octet-stream" After that message another message pops-up stating "No mime-types installed" Then the window of the app (Konqueror in one case) but there is nothing in it. No icons, no fonts, nothing. What is this and how can that be? Does a KDE upgrade do something with mime-types?
Try running kbuildsycoca
Greetings, Stephan
Thanks Stephan, Carl, Patrick, For your kind advice and suggestions. Can't try any of those things because now the KDE update won't install because every package has a conflict with kdelibs3 error: file /opt/kde3/lib/libvcard.so.0.0.0 from install of kdelibs3-3.5.7-79.2 conflicts with file from package kdelibs3-32bit-3.5.5-45.4 Now I have to find out what that is all about.
