I want Kate in the Open With menu to have its icon
Please compare: http://h1.ripway.com/samvit/temp/kate-has-icon.png (40 KB) http://h1.ripway.com/samvit/temp/kate-has-no-icon.png (30 KB) You observe that for txt files, right-click in Konqueror, Open With opens a list where Kate has its own proper icon. For the txt files, the association with Kate was set by the machine. For the html files, the association was set by me, since I like to use Kate to edit my html files by hand. I observe that in the case where I set the association myself, the Kate icon is not displayed in the menu. Please tell me how I can get it to be displayed. [Am I picky about details or what? ;)] Thanks. -- Penguin #395953 resides at http://samvit.org subsisting on SUSE Linux 10.0 with KDE 3.5

The same place you set the association to kate. Konqueror -> settings -> configure - konqueror -> file associations -> text -> html -> application preference order -> kate -> edit when the 'Properties for Kate.desktop - Konqueror' window opens, click on the 'Icon' button to the left of text entry area which says 'Kate' I'm sure you can take it from there... -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2

Thanks. The icon button did not hit my eye, despite being so big. I was looking for some button named "Change Icon", thanks to my Windows vaasanaa-s (latent impressions in the mind resulting from experiences are called "vaasanaa"-s in Sam'skr'ta [Sanskrit]). I now sit corrected. (Since I am not standing now I cannot write "I stand corrected"!) -- Penguin #395953 resides at http://samvit.org subsisting on SUSE Linux 10.0 with KDE 3.5
