[opensuse-kde] upgrading to KDE 4.9.3 = no ssh agent started automatically anymore?
Hi, I've upgraded (zypper dup from KDE:Release:49) my 12.1 installation here to KDE 4.9.3, and now logging in via KDM does not automatically start the ssh- agent anymore... where do I look for the why&how? bye, MH -- gpg key fingerprint: 5F64 4C92 9B77 DE37 D184 C5F9 B013 44E7 27BD 763C () ascii ribbon campaign against HTML e-mail /\ www.asciiribbon.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

This happened to me several times in the past, and I did not find the reason. So to make sure the agent is running, I added some lines to my ~/.bashrc. If there is no gpg-agent process, gpg-agent is started. You can use this code even it is started automatically again... - ---snip--- # make sure that gpg-agent runs when # Thunderbird's Enigmail wants to use it GPGAGENTFILE="$HOME/.gpg-agent-info" ps ax | grep -v grep | grep -q gpg-agent || /usr/bin/gpg-agent \ --daemon --enable-ssh-support --write-env-file "$GPGAGENTFILE" if [ -f "$GPGAGENTFILE" ]; then . "$GPGAGENTFILE" export GPG_AGENT_INFO export SSH_AUTH_SOCK export SSH_AGENT_PID fi - ---pins--- The check if gpg-agent is already running at the start of the code can be done in another way, like - ---snip--- [ -n "$(pidof gpg-agent)" ] || /usr/bin/gpg-agent \ ... - ---pins--- or - ---snip--- [ -z "$(pidof gpg-agent)" ] && /usr/bin/gpg-agent \ ... - ---pins--- HTH Werner - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.18 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlCc640ACgkQk33Krq8b42NAxQCcCvWku529TZCpw0ufsKI9dFb2 r6oAn3rRTwCsCaGQAnLa5jjscvyhJ+75 =nvlB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

This was also giving me some trouble :-| . In my case the ~/.xsession was not executed anymore. To solve the issue, select'custom' in the kdm login options, log in -> ssh-agent is running. Just in case you're using ksshaskpass, they changed it's location from /usr/lib64/ssh/ -> /usr/lib/ssh. So autostart scripts might need to be adjusted. Worked for me, hope it helps. <°)>>< -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
