Knotes & Kalarm Lost The Plot
Can someone explain how Knotes & Kalarm can suddenly lose all my previous notes & alarms? My ~/.kde/share/apps/knotes/notes directory still contain the knote_data files, but they are zero byte files and my ~/.kde/share/apps/kalarm has the ".ics" files but they contain no valid data. This appears to have happened after ooo.org's calc program caused my system to freeze (which it does with monotonous regularity) requiring a hardware reboot. I cannot explain, but confirm such a behaviour. Throughout the years of running KDE I occasionally lost various config files and dirs after crashes and freezes. I never found out why this had happened, I had to accept that hours of work were gone with the freeze... ;) As that was borne in on me, I am backing up important files and dirs (exactly: I am mirroring the whole sys to another device). Since then I meet my fate calmly. Kind regards Frank
