[opensuse-kde] Looking for kuickshow on 11.3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi everyone, are there any plans to make kuickshow availably again on openSUSE 11.3? I used it in 11.2 with KDE 4.4, and I can't find it in 11.3's repos. Neither "scout webpin kuickshow" (no output at all) nor "zypper se kuickshow" ("no packages found") brings any useable packages :-( Or has it been dropped in the meantime? <mode="sarcasm">It was a program that was fast and reliable, and maybe this does not fit into KDE 4 strategy :-></mode> Regards, Werner -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.15 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkxf9FsACgkQk33Krq8b42MLnQCaArB3ZFvbDIM0qBJ9VXC1jnx1 IIgAnR7J8BhHCg2PAKsnVtuislAosFlb =nryQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
It just fails to build anywhere except 11.2. You can check it here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kuickshow&project=KDE:Extra -- Regards, Minton. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

It requires the Imlib (version 1) library which has been dropped for 11.3.

Looking at KDE:Extra building is broken on 11.3 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kuickshow&project=KDE%3AExtra It has no seperate maintainer so I guess noone really noticed yet... I'll try a quick fix, this is not real maintainership though so if you care for that specific package we could use some help and we'll help you with maintaining =) Regards, Karsten -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
Nevermind, Lubos is right of course, it wants imlib and doesn't build with the successor imlib2. I fear you are out of luck, you can branch imlib and kuickshow into your own home repo and build them both there I guess Regards, Karsten Am Montag, 9. August 2010, 14:49:24 schrieb Karsten König:

Oh, I thought it was able to use imlib2 instead, but obviously I am wrong. Just copying the respective files from oS 11.2 to oS 11.3 was not enough, I found out yesterday :-] Thanks for the news, though it is bad. No, I do not see that I have the time to fiddle myself into KDE software packaging :-(. My small home:werfl has text packages only ;-) Best regards, Werner

Branching imlib (from 11.2) and kuickshow might already be enough Regards, Karsten Am Montag, 9. August 2010, 15:11:19 schrieb Werner Flamme:

Given that all it takes is getting imlib1 to build, and that the spec exists already, it never will get cheaper for you.. Cheers, Pete -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

No, you didn't ;-) I was not looking for a replacement, but for kuickshow itself. Gwenview does not change its window size according to the viewed picture, but keeps the window size, whether the shown picture is bigger or smaller than the one I watched before. Currently I try to build it in my home:werfl on build service, but there are many dependancies, and I am not through yet. It wants imlib2, but then does not find the IMLIB symbol - so I need the old imlib too, but imlib has many dependancies itself (gtk-devel, libjpeg, ...), so now I am linking them into my home - from oS 11.2, and I hope it will work though... Have you considered asking Aurélien Gâteau, the Gwenview developer, if he can include the resize feature? Since he's working for Canninical he works mostly on other components and it takes a few days until one gets an answer, but he's a friendly and open guy (though he may reply with a friendly "No". ;-) ): aurelien.gateau@canonical.com On Wednesday 18 August 2010 17:47:32 Werner Flamme wrote:
