KMail error messages after "restore"
I had mail in KMail, and then in Sylpheed in SuSE 8.0. Before I installed (new, including formatting...) SuSE 8.1, I backed up my folders to a CD. Afterward, I started and configured KMail. Then I tried to bring in the folders from the CD. I did NOT try to bring in my old inbox... just the "homemade" folders for my listmail, etc. Now whenever KMail is open, I'm constantly getting messages like: Warning - KNotify <148> Cannot open file "/home/kevin/Mail/mbox" Permission denied Similar messages for "..... /folder-metadata.xml" What's up?

Files copied from CDROM are usually marked as readonly. ls -l /home/kevin/Mail/mbox should give you more information. chmod changes the attributes. Regards, Tobias.

------------------------------ Yep, Tobias has hit on it and you can also just right click on the mbox folder, select Properties and see who owns it. You should change it to you and group users, but make sure you have read & write permissions as well. Patrick --- KMail v1.4.3 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206
