[opensuse-kde] Something wrong with kde4 apps/libs on Leap
Hi guys, I need Kmidimon but: # zypper in kmidimon Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Problem: kmidimon-0.7.5-3.1.x86_64 requires kdebase4-runtime >= 4.14.0, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: kdebase4-runtime-16.08.2-1.1.x86_64[download.opensuse.org-oss] Solution 1: Following actions will be done: downgrade of libkde4-4.14.27-33.5.x86_64 to libkde4-4.14.25-1.1.x86_64 downgrade of libkdecore4-4.14.27-33.5.x86_64 to libkdecore4-4.14.25-1.1.x86_64 Solution 2: do not install kmidimon-0.7.5-3.1.x86_64 Solution 3: break kmidimon-0.7.5-3.1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies Uhmm.. What to do ? Default repo + KDE/Extra and Applications Thanks, Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

just guessing as I run Tw, but "Solution 1:" will provide you the ability to install kmidimon. But you need to see what else that action will affect. if that is not acceptable, go to http://software/opensuse.org/search and see if someone has built kmidimon with more acceptable conditions. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Kmid is affected too but the problematic package is kdebase4-runtime: # zypper in kdebase4-runtime Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Which Leap version are you using? The version of kdebase4-runtime (if coming from Applications) should be 16.12.2. The 16.08.2 version seems to indicate that you are using 42.1, for which Applications is no longer build. You have to ensure that both kdebase4-runtime and kdelibs4 comes from the same repository. Thanks, Daniele.
Nothing, there's no kdebase4-runtime-16.12 for Leap (only in some home repo). So, IMHO, something is broken/missing for Leap.. Thanks, Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Are you using KDE:Applications? If so, you need to change the repo URL, as mentioned on this mailing list.
Just replaced Applications with the new Kdeframework repos, still the same :( # zypper if kdebase4-runtime Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... So, IMHO, something is broken/missing for Leap.. Well, after moving completely to plasma-5.9.2 and Qt-5.8, I don't see errors about kde4 stuff anymore.
At this point, I don't know if is fixed or is a sort of workaround.. :| Anyway, Kdeconnect still segfault :( Thanks, Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
