[opensuse-kde] Icon Naming Spec
Hey KDE team, Beagle uses "system-search" as the icon in many of its .desktop files. system-search is an icon in the icon naming spec: http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.ht... Currently rpmlint gives an error because icon-naming-spec icons are not white listed (and beagle doesn't BuildRequires tango although i guess it could) so we do a hack to copy an icon beagle-system-search into the pixmap dir and alter the .desktop files. Question is, with KDE4 for can I rely on conformance with the icon-naming-spec in the themes and then see about getting rpmlint changed and dropping the hack? -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

You can rely on KDE4 using the naming part of the icon-naming-spec, yes. I think you're not talking about rpmlint but about the brp-desktop check. Please file a bugreport (I don't even know who maintains that check). /usr/lib/rpm/brp-desktop.data white lists icons but only for applications and categories. Dunno if action icons should be really used in .desktop files... Me neither, but it doesn't seem prohibited and app developers are encouraged to use them elsewhere in their app. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
