kmail migration from SuSE 8.0, kmail 1.4.3 to SuSE8.2, kmail 1.5.x
I just received SuSE 8.2 Prof. Update and installed it on a new system. How can I migrate my kmail folders and kmail configuration to the new system? -- Uwe Noffke Töpferstr. 3, DE-35767 Breitscheid Tel: +49 (2777) 912739 Email: Uwe@noffke-online.de

Hi Uwe, copy the /home/uwe/Mail folder from your old box to the new one, that gives you already all the Mails. In /home/uwe/.kde/share/config there is a file kmailrc copy that to to the new box too, that gives you most, if not all, of the settings. I can't remember if there is another file somewhere, but these 2 copies should do most of the work. HTH, Matt T.

Don't forget the whole folder ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ Greets, Daniel

Did you upgrade or a new install. If the later is the case you may simply copy the Mail hierarchy from the old system to the new system with the help of scp. Login into your new system as user yourname. scp -r yourname@oldsystem.domain.de:/home/yourname/Mail /home/yourname/ Now start kmail and it will automatically detect your old/new mail folders.
