[opensuse-kde] KDE42 repository vs KDE3 repository
Hey! I am using the follwoing repositories: "KDE 4.2.x Packages (openSUSE_11.1)"[0], and "Latest KDE 3 environment for released SUSE distributions (openSUSE_11.1)"[1] Since some days or weeks, I get conflicts when I try to update all "old" packages, e.g., via YaST2. Repository [1] offers python-qt-3.18-1.2.i586 that requires at least python-sip-4.8. However, python-kde4-4.2.4-5.7.i586 from repository [0] requires python-sip-4.7. Gruß Jan [0]<http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/42/openSUSE_11.1/> [1]<http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_11.1/> -- Law enforcement officials are a highly paid group of volunteers that enforce upon the general citizenry laws that they themselves, and those of their choosing, can disobey with impunity. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Do you also have the QT repo installed? This caused problems for me with the QT version. I just set the priority of the qt repo down (higher number in Yast2) an it worked. No.

AFAIK you do not need any Qt repository for KDE42. Gruß Jan -- Whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

thats unfortunately correct :( KDE 4.2.x does not work with python-sip 4.8, while meanwhile KDE:KDE3 was fixed to work with python-sip 4.8. It would be very helpful if you or anyone else would fix python-kde4 to build and work with python-sip 4.8, then we can upgrade. It looks like there was someone working on this issue some weeks ago: <http://www.mail-archive.com/pyqt@riverbankcomputing.com/msg17224.html> <http://www.mail-archive.com/pyqt@riverbankcomputing.com/msg17300.html> Gruß Jan -- Everything you know is wrong. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Thats correct, the issues have been fixed for KDE 4.3. The backports for KDE 4.2 have not been done yet, thats the missing part where I need help (no time for that myself).
