[opensuse-kde] Windows 7 like preview for minimized apps in KDE?
Hi there, in Windows 7 I like this preview feature very much that shows a preview of a program even if it is minimized, when you hover with the mouse over the task bar. I wonder, does any recent version of KDE have a clone of this Windows feature? I currently run KDE 4.3.5 with Compiz and it does not have this cool preview feature. Kwin effects from KDE SC 4.4.x have this feature ;)

If that is all your talking about, it works here with the stock KDE Platform Version 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 3" using openSUSE 11.3 with the standard repositories. I don't remember doing anything special to get this function except use the NVIDIA driver. It works both with minimized and open windows. KDE 4.5.3 from KDE:Distro:Factory is working well on 11.3 but you should install quickly it's changing to 4.6 which may not work so well initially. Maybe somebody can give you a link to a more suitable repository for 11.2. The feature is in KDE SC 4.4 too. So he has way too many options :-) KDE:Distro:Stable - the nice stable, tested, unchanging (until March 2011) KDE SC 4.4 packages of 11.3 available for 11.2. KDE:Release:4.5 - KDE SC 4.5.x - more of a rollercoaster than Stable, but less rollercoaster than Factory. KDE:Distro:Factory - KDE SC 4.5.x, will switch to KDE SC 4.6beta shortly, bumpy ride guaranteed. KDE:Unstable:SC - Upstream devel snapshots, pure and unrestricted pain, your guarantee that there'll always be something to troubleshoot.
