[opensuse-kde] Where's my addressbook?
I've started playing with KDE4, and I've managed to get Kmail4 to see my Mailboxes. How do I find my KDE3 list of Contacts? How do I load my KDE3 calendar? I don't want to have to recreate all this stuff. In fact, I'd like Kontact and Kontact/KDE3 to both use the same databases. -- Bob Registered Linux User #463880 FSFE Member #1300 GPG-FP: A6C1 457C 6DBA B13E 5524 F703 D12A FB79 926B 994E openSUSE 11.0, Kernel 2.6.25.5-1.1-default, KDE 3.5.9 Intel Celeron 2.53GB, 2GB DDR RAM, nVidia GeForce 7600GS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

You could try copying the relevant files and folders from ~/.kde/ to ~/.kde4/ .. or maybe do some symlink magic. Didn't test this. Keep backups handy.

Wow, this list is the magic genie of the free software world? I want icecream! I don't think I'm asking too much. Mail is mail, whichever client you're using, and a list of contacts is only so much data, so why can't KDE3 and KDE4 read and write to the same databases? It's not that I want to use them simultaneously, it's to provide seamless transition from one to the other. But, things have moved on, and like some others in a later thread (from kmail3 to kmail4) I'm sticking with KDE3. It works, and I've yet to be convinced that KDE4 has anything new that I need. -- Bob Registered Linux User #463880 FSFE Member #1300 GPG-FP: A6C1 457C 6DBA B13E 5524 F703 D12A FB79 926B 994E openSUSE 11.0, Kernel 2.6.25.5-1.1-default, KDE 3.5.9 Intel Celeron 2.53GB, 2GB DDR RAM, nVidia GeForce 7600GS --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
