Kmail 1.6.2: destroying messages?
I have a strange thing happening with KMail 1.6.2: it seems to destroy messages. If I go into the 'outbox' folder and highlight messages they turn into "unknown" for every column. Makes it rather hard to send the messages ;-(. I've seen it in some other folders too. Anyone an idea what this might be? /// P ///

Delete the associated .index files in ~Mail. KMail will recreate them upon startup and everything will be back to normal. -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you; if you don't bet, you can't win. -Lazarus Long -- Linux 2.6.4-54.5-default

Yup, did the trick. Thanks!

I think this can happen if you accessed your Mail by another route (e.g. pine). Sadly I cannot remember what I did when it happened to me. Is there a "rebuild" option somewhere in KMail? Might be best to back up the directory first!
