I tryed to download and install the new version with the bug fix from www.kopete.org (0.10.1) but I can't install it (./cofigure give me some warnings: configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: present but cannot be compiled configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: check for missing prerequisite headers? configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: see the Autoconf documentation configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled" configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: proceeding with the preprocessor's result configure: WARNING: linux/if_ppp.h: in the future, the compiler will take precedence configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ## configure: WARNING: ## Report this to the AC_PACKAGE_NAME lists. ## configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ## and then the make command give me an error: make[3]: Entering directory `/home/stefano/kopete-0.10.1/doc/fr' /opt/kde3/bin/meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 ./index.docbook index.docbook:101: parser error : Entity 'traducteurPatricePawlak' not defined &traducteurCedricPasteur;&traducteurPatricePawlak; ^ index.docbook:1878: parser error : Entity 'PatricePawlak' not defined

How should I do??? Someone has a suggestion? Many thanks in advance. Maybe there was a solution in the past, but I'm new in this list... sorry! Stefano
Hello Stefano, You don't need to update to 9.3 to enjoy the latest KDE. Follow the instructions here: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/11504.html This will not only update your KDE to 3.4.1 but also update many other system files like the kernel, etc (If you select the updates). I have 9.3 but I followed these instructions (slightly changed to reflect that I have 9.3 not 9.2) and they worked great! Alvin On Sunday 17 July 2005 19:25, Stefano Kueng wrote:

This will not only update your KDE to 3.4.1 but also update many other system files like the kernel, etc (If you select the updates).
?? why would one want to update system rpms and the kernel? I thought he just wanted a new KDE. The article writes: "We are going to add two entries. One will be for general SUSE 9.2 Professional software packages. The other will be for KDE-specific packages." Just add only one new entry: The one for KDE. The files of the ftp-version of Suse 9.2 are nearly the same as the ones on your CDs/DVD. You won't gain anything by switching from the DVD-version to the FTP-version of Suse 9.2. So just add "pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.2/yast-source" as an additional installation source and follow the article. Then your download will only be 100-300MB and not 1+GB. Regards, Matthias
