USB-stick not showing up in media:/
Hello! It seems that using the KDE 3.5.3 packages for SuSE 10.0 I cannot get my USB-stick to appear in media:/ after I plugged it in. It is mounted and accessible though, since I can just cd to /media/usbdisk and have a look at its contents. I read on bugs.kde.org that this could be related to a broken linkage to HAL which results in it not reporting the mount-states correctly. How can I find out, if this is really the case? Thanks, Sven

In Kcontrol > devices > media > advanced I found that "activate HAL" was greyed out and it was stated that HAL was not supported by the system. Does this mean that the KDE packages were compiled by the build service without HAL-support? Sven

As I stated in my first post, I use 3.5.3.
