Try starting the control center from the shell to see what messages you get there. I believe you would start it with "kcontrol" in the konsole. If there are errors occurring, some of them should show up and you can possibly determine what is missing. I did it... the control center starts with 6 big categories in the left column... Web Brwosing Databases FileBrowsing Help Information Personalization Each category is complettely empty. Only show a back arrow which returns u to the main menu with the 6 above selections... any other idea? --- BandiPat <penguin0601@earthlink.net> wrote:

Basic Question: You try to open Kcontrol from the KDE Desktop ? Not Gnome or any other windowmanager ? Sorry about the stupid Question, but its Basic. If yes (KDE Desktop), try to re-install the kdebase3 from your suse cd or dvd. Thats what i would do first. Greetings Thomas
Yep i install all the packets that starts with kdebase* . In my suse 9.0 there was 5-7 packets that updated succesfully... Hi again... i think that i found something else.... I have created a new user and his control center launched succesfully.... I was wondering if a (hidden) file would be missing from the user that his control center launchs blank... Any kde expert could be very useful --- Thomas Janssen <thommyus@gmx.de> wrote:
