[opensuse-kde] 11.4 + KDE 4.6.1: Mouse Actions -> Right-Button doesn't work properly
Howdy, If I need to file this bug as an upstream bug, I will. In a VM, I've installed `openSUSE 11.4 + KDE 4.6.1' I first tried customizing my mouse's right-button with the stock `openSUSE 11.4' distribution (I believe KDE 4.4.x). When I couldn't get it to work, I upgraded to `KDE 4.6.1' - I didn't test my findings in KDE 4.4 though. What I noticed with KDE 4.6.1 (I didn't test this scenario with KDE 4.4), is I can only get the `Application Launcher' to work if I assign it to any other mouse action other than `right-button' :) For example, if I do the following: o `Desktop Settings > Mouse Actions > Right-Button' o Select `Application Launcher' when I right-click on my desktop, I only get a single menu item: `Desktop Settings' On the other hand, if I set, say `Middle-Button' to `Application Launcher', I get the list of Kicker applications: o `Desktop Settings > Mouse Actions > Middle-Button' o Select `Application Launcher' The above works. What I'm trying to figure out is whether this is an `openSUSE' issue or an upstream bug. I'm more than happy to re-open KDE bug 163016: [ https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163016 ] Please advise. I can confirm this happens with the official 4.6.0 packages of 11.4 too.

Looks like an upstream bug to me, but maybe you should join #kde on freenode and see if non-suse users can reproduce.

Good idea. Thank you for the pointer.

I only cited it because way back, I voted for it. The feature was working, I believe in openSUSE 11.3, but apparently it broke. Hi Martin, Thank you for the advice on checking with IRC. I confirmed the problem with other distros and I've opened the bug below: [ https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=269251 ] Cheers, -- Pablo Sanchez - Blueoak Database Engineering, Inc Ph: 819.459.1926 Fax: 760.860.5225 (US) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
Hi, you can change the behavior of right click as a workaround. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673004 Yi On 03/22/2011 10:33 PM, Pablo Sanchez wrote:

Hi Yi, Thank you for your response. I think you confirmed my work-around as well.
