I have been using a screen size of 1600x1200 under SuSE 9.1, KDE 3.2 for over a year without problems until now. I ran YAST to make a minor adjustment to my screen position and now KDE will not display anything above 1024x768. I have tried starting X by itself (via xinit) and it does 1600x1200 just fine. I then ran startkde and when it ran kdeinit the background is replaced with a 1024x768 one. It seems to ignore the /etc/X11/XF86config file that YAST created and that the X server (via xinit) uses just fine. Does anyone know what kdeinit might be doing that could cause it to change the screen size? Thanks in advance, -Dennis

have a look at the xrandr applet (screen resize and rotate). This allows the size to be set on the fly and it remembers the value chosen across sessions. Andrew ------------------------------- Jabber: acolvin@jabber.org MSN: apc@abcj.demon.co.uk ICQ: 44775817
