[opensuse-kde] Software Update and forced logout
Hi I just had a "Software Update" pop up with 95 updates which i accepted and i went back to browsing. After a few minutes, all the open programs (chromium and kontact) suddenly shutdown and i was logged out. It even skipped running my backup script that is supposed to run on logout. I didn't seem to do any damage but it was an unwelcome process. Any ideas? Hi, I think that is a well known issue, there is thread in factory "Update killed user session". The culprit is Xdm. Daniele. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

No, if you've read all the comments you will see that the bug was fixed, but due to the way rpm pre-remove works it would kill your session one more time when the old package was un-installed. Which it promptly did. Ok, thanks. Shouldn't the user get a warning from the installing software concerned of that before the install takes place?
