[opensuse-kde] Borked KDE 4.3 beta environment

Hi: I've somehow managed to completely borked my KDE environment this past few weeks. I've been running with the KDE factory repository and ever since it switched to the 4.3 beta, I've had a really busted environment: * No desktop (just the checkered background) * No systray apps * program menu displays in various places I haven't been overly concerned with the above although it kind of limits any sort of beta testing. However, I'm not sure what happened to cause this issue, and although I've made attempts to fix it, I have had no luck. I believe I originally manually added the various factory repos, so that is most likely the root of my problem, but when I've tried using the various OneClick installers available on opensuse, it looks like they crash: yast gets to about 50% and immediately exits. Any ideas on what the problem is and how I would go around fixing it? thanks -- chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

First test current configuration with a new user. That will make clear what is culprit, system wide or user settings. -- Regards, Rajko http://news.opensuse.org/category/people-of-opensuse/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

zypper lr --details rpm -q libqt4 rpm -q kdelibs4 did you run "zypper in libqt4" or "zypper dup" to switch to Qt 4.5, which you need for that? Greetings, Dirk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Ah I was not aware I needed to run zypper dup since I had already configured the KDE factory repository and was running that (at least I thought I was). It looks like its fixed. thanks -- chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
