Hi James I don't know the solution to your problem but why don't you use Gnucash? It works perfect with SuSE. Latest version (1.8.4) on http://www.usr-local-bin.org

Hi Bill! I just had a look at it and it looks interesting. One thing that impresses me is the support for HBCI. I am having a problem with the help, though. It seems that the help does not work for any Gnome application on KDE. Any ideas? Yeah , there is a special way to get the help files working . You need to download the gnucash.docs 1.8.0 as well (Google for it). However there is a good helpfile at www.object-refinery.com/gnucash/. Also for business setup use, have a look at http://www.aerospacesoftware.com/linuxhowtos.html. and there is the list gnucash-user@lists.gnucash.org and ofcourse www.gnucash.org. I download the gnucash doc, but it was still not working. Seems that the version installed with SuSE 8.2 is looking for the help in /opt/gnome/share/gnome/help/gnucash, but the doc is actually installed in /usr/share/gnome/help/gnucash. I tried the --doc-path option, but kept getting this: gnucash: [E] "non-list given for --doc-path: ""/usr/share/gnome/help/gnucash/" So, I created a symlink and that seems to help. However, I still did not find what I was looking for. I was trying to find how to edit the "credit formula". I also ran into to some other problems, so maybe I'll just joing the mailing list. Yes , that might be a good idea. It's a good list and has a fast respond. Don't know what you mean by""credit formula".
