[opensuse-kde] kdesu and yast2 sw_single no longer work under kde4.2.88
Hi, I don't get a root password prompt for any menu item set to run as root anymore and yast2 sw_single won't run under kde4 although it does run under kde3. The root prompt doesn't work under kde3 or 4. I'm running up to date factory. Can anybody give me a clue as to what I can file a bug against or what I can check. Opened bug http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=511480 against usability but I suspect kdesu but there is only kde3, kde4 workspace and kde4 applications whereas this bug affects kde3 and 4 . Any help will be appreciated. Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

The problem disappeared after I edited kdesurc but I can no longer reproduce this bug. I am speculating it was a result of adding relatime to my fstab as that is the only system change before the problem. rpm -qa | grep libkde4
Sorry if there's a double posts. I have same problem now. but didn't try it in KDE 3 yet. What should i do to my ~/.kde4/share/config/kdesurc file to solve this problem? My installed packages: libkde4-4.2.98-148.1
rpm -qa | grep yast2-qt yast2-qt-pkg-2.17.27-0.1.1 yast2-qt-2.18.6-3.4.un

My kdesu is totally broken in both kde3 and 4 after my last update, editing kdesurc has made no difference. http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=511480 has a link to :- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199209 which describes the problem I have at the moment. The problem is back to normal now after reinstalling* those two packages above from repo-oss. Those packages (above) were installed on no purpose from /home:/pikerhog:/utils/ repository in case to have "libicu-4.2" needed by OpenOffice_org-kde4 (?) from /OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE_Factory/ repository. So, everything is fine now. *) zypper rm yast2-qt && zypper -v install -f --repo repo-oss yast2-qt Regards, Andi S. -- AndiSugandi™ is andi.opensuse-id.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
