Hi :-) I have a problem with $QTDIR. When I start assistant or qmake, these don't work unless I call "export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3" manually. echo $QTDIR in xterm puts out an empty row. When I log in on tty1, QTDIR is set correct, also QTDIR is set in /etc/SuSEconfig/profile as it should be. /etc/SuSEconfig/profile is executed, I checked this by inserting "DUMMY=Test export DUMMY". I don't understand why QTDIR is empty, the only explanation for this I have is that somewhere "export QTDIR=" or something similar is called. But that doesn't make sense :-/ I'm using Suse 8.0 with actual online updates (kde 3.0.4, qt 3.0.3 ...) Thanks, Kjell Morgenstern

/opt/kde3/bin/startkde There is a statement something like unset QTDIR. I don't know why they do this, but you need to comment it out. Salman

some apps and even qt itself is using it at runtime. so it is a problem if you have qt2 apps or an own version of qt somewhere. new configure's should find qt3, you can also mostly use the "--with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3" switch mostly. bye adrian ********************************************************************** Adrian Schroeter SuSE AG, Deutschherrnstr. 15-19, 90429 Nuernberg, Germany email: adrian@suse.de (426 mails already received today.)
