[opensuse-kde] Why is kde4 kweather still lacking?
Hi, I saw a few complaints on opensuse lists about kde4's weather report widget lacking the configurability of the kde3 version from kde3 toys and hoped to see an improvement but it still gives me a choice of only the bbc and two us sites for weather updates and (I am located in Cape town and we have very unpredictable weather here) they are next to useless. Is there any way to get all of the kde3 versions airport weather sites integrated with the kde4 version or a configuration file I can hack? I've searched novel and kde bugzillas and I can't find any bug or wish on this subject thats open. Hi Dave! There are a few other weather plasmoids available in the KDE:KDE4:Community repository which could help you out here. A good example is the plasmoid-cwp. This weather plasmoid is very configurable and has quite a number of weather resources. You might find others on.http://www.kde-look.org Regards Raymond On 4/8/09, Dave Plater <dave.plater@yahoo.co.uk> wrote:

There's nothing yet that can replace the kde3 kweather, plasmoid-cwp hasn't got any african weather stations and a search of kde-look doesn't find anything new. I don't understand why they deviated from airport weather data. I suppose all I can do is file a bug. I've filed a bug :- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189115 and so far had the following info :- -- Comment #1 from Shawn Starr <shawn starr rogers com> 2009-04-08 18:45:23 --- We could add this. We don't use NOAA's METAR information like kweather does but this could be an addon plugin for METAR airport information. So it looks like I might get my wish anyway.
