In the moment, I don't know exactly, what you need / want. 1) KMail can fetch new eMails from time to time. Just tell it to get eMails every 5 min or something like that! 2) If you just want to see a sign in the Panel: Have a closer Look at kbiff 3) And of course: You can use fetchmail together with KMail. Maybe it's that what you are looking for. With kind regards, Konrad

and at kshowmail too.

Sorry if I wasn't too clear.

Where is this option? I looked for it but I cannot find it.
2) If you just want to see a sign in the Panel: Have a closer Look at kbiff
I used that before but it crashes all the time.
3) And of course: You can use fetchmail together with KMail. Maybe it's that what you are looking for.
I have no knowledge how fetchmail works or how to set it up. Thanks very much for your reply. -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south.

Hmm .. I am using the german settings, so I am not able to tell you the right way to setting. In KMail you have to configure, where it can find it's mail. (e.g. configure pop3 with server, login, password, ...). There should be a setting like "Get mails for this server every x min". So you have to go to the settings of the account. (I hope, that the words are correct ... If you cannot find it, I will check it out this evening. In the moment I am at work and I have no KMail here!)
2) If you just want to see a sign in the Panel: Have a closer Look at kbiff
I used that before but it crashes all the time.
Hmmm ... then forget this idea!
3) And of course: You can use fetchmail together with KMail. Maybe it's that what you are looking for.

Hmm .. it isn't that hard. But if you want to use kmail, it is enough to set up KMail to get eMails from time to time automatically. So you could forget this idea. (I am using kmail also!) With kind regards, Konrad Neitzel -- SoftMediaTec GmbH Tel: 0172 / 689 31 45 Fax: 069 / 90 50 99 53

Settings>Configure Kmail>Network>Receiving Tab>Hilite the Incoming acct>Modify>General Tab>Check Interval Checking and set time for the interval. ra
