Sub-folders and File extentions

This is something I should know by now, but I don't. Question 1: How do I create a *sub-folder* in: file:/home/andy/Documents/Christianity? I was able to do so when I created a sub-folder named "Christianity" for the main folder called "Documents". But I forgot how I did it. (It's called senility). Question 2: I guess the suffix for a created document - whether it be created originally in OOo, or by copying a web zine site to OOo - is .swx. It is my understanding that .swx documents can not be read in Microsoft Word (any version). If that is true, and I want to be able to email some of my created documents to other people who have Windows only, how can I create a document on Linux with an MS ",doc" suffix? Thanks guys. You provide an invaluable source of knowledge. Andy

Open a terminal window and type: mkdir /home/andy/Documents/Christianity/<subfolder_name> :-) But I guess you rather want to do it with KDE means, right? Open a konqueror window, navigate to the Christianity folder, right-click on it and select "New Folder" from the context menu that pops up. It will create a new folder with the name "New Folder" or so, afterwards you can give it another name, e.g. by selecting it and pressing F2, or selecting "Rename" from the context menu that opens on right-click.
Open the document in OOo, and save it as "MS Office" document. You can select the file type in the "Save as" dialog. Hope that helps Mario
