Hey there, ... when I mount a CD or DVD using the icon on the desktop, ie. Konqueror, then it keeps a lock on it until I completely logout and re-login again. Only then can I umount it in a shell window. Why is that? Bug or dubious feature? -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net

Hey Patrick,
control center -> kde components -> kde performance -> konqueror ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ... there is no KDE Performance item in KDE Components. The latter exists, the former does not.
Hay there, the current version does. you neglected to mention that you were not using the current version. maybe it's in the crystal balllllll. try: konqueror -> settings -> configure konqueror -> performance but, that may not exist in earlier ver's either. still, there were several other workable solutions presented. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
Hey Patrick,

... I use SuSE 9.0 pro and I can assure you it's not there just as I described.
try: konqueror -> settings -> configure konqueror -> performance
... this works, tho. Thanks for this.
still, there were several other workable solutions presented.
... the login/logout thing does not exactly behave as I expected but then, I can change my script to reflect that. So, thanks very much for that info too. See it now? Reading 5268 lines of text would have taken me hours. By asking I reduced my time including checking the feature significantly while it took you only a few minutes, which of course you could have chosen not to invest at all. Anyway, thanks a lot. -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net

So you confirm that you are basicly lazy. you are welcome, but there will be research charges the next time, since you aparrrently believe that your time is worth more than mine. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
Hey Patrick,
So you confirm that you are basicly lazy.
... wouldn't you save a few hours if you could?
you are welcome, but there will be research charges the next time, since you aparrrently believe that your time is worth more than mine.
... I don't. But from your tone I wonder why you answered in the first place. No, don't waste your valuable time to let us all know. -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net

Glad to help someone who makes an effort, but you seem to gain satisfaction in getting someone else to do your leg-work. You have your info. Enjoy it. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
Hi Patrick,
Glad to help someone who makes an effort,
... same here. I help other people too, so it's not only you helping others.
but you seem to gain satisfaction in getting someone else to do your leg-work.
... wrong. You don't seem to know the difference between a reasonable effort and torture. EOD and EOT. -- cul8er, Paul paul.foerster@gmx.net
