LOL, well that's OK then. Tuesday I get to upgrade to 8 again. I'll probably stick with K3.0.3, until you early adopters 'test' 3.1 for a while. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj173UoACgkQnQ18+PFcZJtsKgCdG1RDvSahCUy+T3UG2rKuSosn hTAAn2qrEa3EYSMO8ZBZVodqB0HSZkVy =/+ZV -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Hm, sounds like 3.0.3 in 8.1 is a possibility? Anybody know? I hadn't even considered that. If so, I may stumble along till 8.1 too. - -- They're only trying to make me LOOK paranoid! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj173tsACgkQnQ18+PFcZJuQTwCeOX3j3sgBCM/qfcYKvm2uE4ZH LroAn1I2pKvLydOd3vNJNgZAxoAj++PK =Pmey -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

keramik is inspired by mosfet's liquid, which in turn is inspired (to the point of plagiarism) by Apple's aqua. If it reminds people of XP, guess why :)

I use Liquid and like it. (hm, poor Apple is the source again... how do they replenish the juice people keep stealing?) But the K3.1 screenshots look cartoonish, and vacant. Hopefully that wasn't a good representation. - -- One seldom sees a monument to a committee. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj174IkACgkQnQ18+PFcZJuhuQCfRePlPUMw8T27IhciJDAig411 EoMAnA0EmSeBe+elDu+KsGcjYFD2AFq0 =xsc0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Yep. It's the default in 3.1. But it's changeable just like your current KDE.
It's probably a good marketing move, but I hope the user interface isn't big, dumb, and patronizing, like XP.
Nope. 3.1 has more features than 3.0, but the screenshots you're seeing are just some of the cosmetic changes. Not changes, "additions". And they're all optional so you can keep the look you've got now if you want. I wouldn't go too much by the screenshots, those were overdone to try and show all the features at once. I only use some specific options with the Keramik style and I've gotten a really nice-looking desktop. That functions just like KDE 3.0. Joe
