Re: [suse-kde] Does k3b support burning of 8GB dvd?
More important: Did you finalised the disc when it was originally burned? Most Linux distros don't read open discs that are not finalised yet. Try it on a known working computer. A blank disk can not be mounted. Check that your device is corrected found and placed either as an IDE (/dev/hda,hdb.hdc) or under SCSI (/dev/sr0,sr1) emulation.
Inspect your dmesg messages so you know what is where.

As I understand it k3b takes care of details like that since CDRW days. Ill check the settings but I am sure that was done. On Wed, 2005-09-28 at 07:01 -0400, Adam Vazquez Kb2jpd Internet Mobile w/ Treo wrote:

I did the write worked fine as root so apparently DVD 's must be burned as root. There is also now the issue of making a dd of a C drive which is just over 4.1 gig and not being recognized as an iso when dd is how I make most of my cd copies. Perhaps there is another way to make them. I am doing this to make a perfect ghost like copy of windows cdrive. CWSIV
