I've been experiencing the same behavior. I have 2 user accounts on this machine.
There are two different packages in Personal that effect this, from what I can tell. kdebase3-SuSE (from Pro) kdebase3-Personal (from personal) kdeartwork3 (seems to apply to both versions but wasn't installed on my pro) I think I have narrowed it down to the kdebase3-Personal rpm as when I install it on a pro box, log out then in again, my menu looks like it would in Personal (no grey strip). However, I did a diff on the contents of both rpms and applied the changes to a pro box (without installing the personal rpm) and it had no effect - so I am back to square one, stumped ;)
