[opensuse-kde] Kontact update and migration in 12.1
This thread is to collect issues arising around Kontact from upgrading 11.4 to 12.1 with its newer KDEPIM. I just tried 11.4 -> KDF (4.7.2) in a VM with my 4 imap accounts and got * Duplicate Personal Contacts * Broken Personal Calendar resource * Broken Local Folders resource (the one that causes kmail to assert on startup...) What's your bid? Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I'll call GIGO on these two, before repeating the test I saw that these were already broken in my 4.6.0 on 11.4.
* Broken Local Folders resource (the one that causes kmail to assert on startup...)
This was also broken in the original state, but I did some more research and notice that the maildir resource did not save its state on logout, therefore I assume this brokenness is everywhere and the migrator needs to take it into account. Unfortunately in 4.7 and 4.8, the resource does not detect its broken config on startup, so kmail-migrator in 4.7 cannot detect and correct the problem in the overall config it inherits from 4.6. I've created a patch to do this (bko#284224). Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I've those troubles (I didn't have a previous kmail configuration but notes, agenda, rss) The notes were not migrated to akonadiNotes And after the first migration (I even don't remember when it was working with factory + KDF for more than 1 years and a half now) I've clean up all akonadi/nepomuk/strigi things and start a fresh and clean setup.) Thanks for this list, Bruno. I'll go through them and group/prioritise them on the wiki. One addition: revert sqlite as default akonadiserver backend. Confirmed, lower priority than the others because disabling KMail in Kontact is weird.
[Bug 283615] "Mimetype tree is not a DAG!" errors + crashes when using SMI 0.91 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283615
Fixed today

This is fixed in our packages already, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271664#c17

Confirmed :/

Ok

Is this still valid with 4.7.2? Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I had a quick play with Snippets in the composer window (View->Snippets to activate) and couldn't find anything *major* wrong with them. The selection is a bit buggy, as you can't right click outside the snippet tree to add a snippet, the context menu is always based on the selected item so Add Group... is only available when an existing snippet, not another group, is selected. But that's small beer compared to the other bugs we found so far. Reported as bko#284302 and bko#284303 though.
And last time I did it: kmail said it did not send emails out while in fact it did so - I was never sure whether they were delivered or not.

IMAP resources stop responding after suspend, resume cycle, possibly due to delay in socket closing. I thought we knew this was a problem in kmail1... Will -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
