Hallo, I'm a user of SUSe since long time . My first version was 7.0 and I just have upgrade my Suse 8.1 to 9.2 but I have a problem with inetd In 8.1 version the inetd was a packege called INETD and the config file was /etc/inetd.conf but when I have installed the 9.2, I don't find more the inetd package and when I'm trying to launch the rcinetd start , I have a FAILED back So what can I do ? I have since that it exists a Yast2-inetd but I don't know if it's the new name or .. ? Is the configuration name always inetd.conf or inetd.cfg ???? Can you help me because I need to access my computer via telnet and It doesn't run because my inetd don't run Best reagrds Paul, on6dp

xinetd is the package that is used. it provides different files for the different services and you can find these configs in /etc/xinetd You should find this through Yast Andrew ------------------------------- Jabber: acolvin@jabber.org MSN: apc@abcj.demon.co.uk ICQ: 44775817
