[opensuse-kde] KR49 keyboardlayout
Hello, The keyboard layout is reset to en/us after every reboot. That means the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-keytable.conf is altered. I'm using OpenSuSE 12.1/ KR49. This happens on two different machines. How can I make my configuration persistent again? Are you sure KDE does so?

Works for me on two different machines. What did you change? What are your settings in KDE's systemsettings for the keyboard layout, language etc. and system-wide? Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Are you sure KDE does so? I don't know who does it. It happens not, when I shutdown KDE. But it happens, since I've updated to 4.9 after every reboot, either from KDE or from console.

My Systemwide setting for language is German. Same for KDE. I didn't change keyboardlayout in kde, only in X. My current settings are: Section "InputClass" Identifier "LocalKeyboard" MatchIsKeyboard "on" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "de,de" Option "XkbVariant" "neo," Option "XkbOptions" "grp:sclk_toggle,grp_led:scroll" EndSection This has worked so far, and still does on machines not updated to KR49. Console is manually altered to neo layout, too.

Hello, I found the culprit: When I set KEYTABLE="neo.map.gz" in /etc/sysconfig/keyboard then my X11-settings are reset. If I leave it to KEYTABLE="de-latin1-nodeadkeys.map.gz" then everything works fine except I have no neo-layout at the console. How can I change this behavior? Why does my console-settings affect my X11-settings at all? Is this the right mailinglist for that problem? Since it does not seem to be a KDE issue, the main mailinglist opensuse@opensuse.org would be better suited. Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
