Hi. I had the same problem on my SuSE 8.1 Pro when i installed KDE 3.1. I think that has nothing to do with Yast2 but mainly with KDE. Try to download all the KDE's 3.1 RPMs from one ftp site e.g from ftp.kde.org/...../..... Sometimes, this problem appears a few times on my SuSE with KDE 3.1. I think kdesud is responsible for this... Just to verify this, run from the Konsole : 'kdesu konqueror'. If the kdesu dialog appears try not to check 'Remember password'. If it does not appear try 'ps -xa' from your Konsole. Try to find the line '/opt/kde3/bin/kdesud'. If you find it , kill that process with 'kill -9 PID' where PID is the process ID. When u kill the kdesu daemon, try again. I dont know if the above will solve your problem, but it applies to my SuSE :)

Hi
Just installed KDE 3.1 on SuSE 8.0 and everything appears fine but YaST2 will no longer run. It starts, but after I enter the root password nothing happens other than the dialog box closing! I have re-installed YaST2 from the original CDs and applied all updates but no change.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Phil
