not sure which package is responsible, but in kate, kwrite, quanta, and perhaps others, selections are not behaving as they should. this can be seen by opening a text file, clicking anywhere in the file then holding shift and clicking anywhere else.

also when you double/triple click before, after, or in a space of a line of text, it jumps to the start of the file instead of selecting the line.

i just talked with the kdedevs and they seem to think its a problem with the suse packages OR the issue has already been fixed in the svn because they could not reproduce the bug

Yaloki also tested this and saw the same behavior
