Re: [opensuse-kde] kde4 configurability
Well for instance. The Konsole is white fonts on black. No way to change it to black on white. The fonts are small and if you want to change them you must actually go down and press Ctl++. The settings don't stick and the next time you have to do it again.
Hi Bob, The text and background colors can be changed via Settings -> Edit Current Profile -> Appearance tab. There are a number of preset color schemes available, including the Black text / White background seen in KDE 3. The text size setting is on the same tab. When you say "No way to change it", I take it that the settings were not where you expected to find them. Could you explain where you tried to look for the settings and didn't find them? I'm not sure whether this problem is a flaw in the UI or just that things have been re-arranged from where they were in KDE 3. The Ctrl++ / Ctrl-- shortcuts for changing text size were intended for temporary text size changes as in web browsers like Firefox. If it is more intuitive for people then it can be made permanent. There are a couple of bug reports open related to this. Hi Robert, Thanks. That did it for me.
When you say "No way to change it", I take it that the settings were not where you expected to find them.
That is what happened. Under Settings on 3.5 there is a long menu and about 3/4 of the way down there is a Fonts choice. On 4.0 I saw the "Profile" things and never even looked in there figuring it was not relevant.

Rearranged I guess, as above

Hmmmm...I.ve never done that. I just scroll in the window to change the size. Found out how to get apps onto the task bar via another poster. Right click on the app in the menu and choose move to task bar. That helps me a lot. Still can't move them or change their size but I will be patient.
