Re: KDE keyboard lock
Installed 10.0 boxed set on a users desktop a couple of day ago. This a.m. the keyboard locked up. Signing on as a different user (root) the keyboard works fine. Signing the same user on GNOME the keyboard works fine. So it is a KDE problem. Any ideas how the keyboard could get locked on KDE for this particular user? Thanks for any help. Actually the keyboard is not locked. If the user holds the key down for a second we get the letter. Subsequently, additional letters are placed according to the rate in the settings. Can anyone tell me where the setting that delays the first letter might be found? Thanks for assitance. CD On Tuesday 01 November 2005 11:24 am, Chuck Davis wrote:

It sounds like an accessibility setting - try control setting Andrew ------------------------------- Jabber: acolvin@jabber.org MSN: apc@abcj.demon.co.uk ICQ: 44775817
Andrew: That was my opinion too but I have been to every setting in the control center I could find and nothing I find sets timing for the first keystroke. The settings are delay time before reppetitions and the number of reps per second. Neither of those affects delay on the first keystroke for each key press. Appreciate your interest in my problem. Try control Q (^Q) which unlocks a control S (^S). I remember when FLYING was FUN and TV was FREE.

Well, when using Konsole, that function has been given to the "Scroll Lock" key, not the XON / XOFF ASCII codes it used in days gone by (I don't know at what point Konsole adopted this convention, but I don't think it was always like that). Randall Schulz
