Upon doing this and rebooting I was greeted with a fallback login screen (looked similar to IceWM). Upon checking the wiki I realized I needed plasma5-session but installing that and rebooting did not help. I then tried patterns-openSUSE-plasma5_basis and rebooted but the issue was still not resolved. Thanks to some help on IRC I discovered that in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager the DISPLAYMANAGER variable was set to "". Changing it to DISPLAYMANAGER="sddm" and rebooting resolved the issue.
