Can anyone suggest how I might launch gfontview as root from Kpanel ? If I right click and look at preferences it says None KDE app configuration. It has room for optional command line arguments, but starts as user. Kfontinst (Font install program) is working ok - preferences shows it executing (kdesu kfontinst). It asks for a password and all is well. I would like something similar for gfontview, rather than starting an xterm and doing sux. Brian Marr

I don't have gfontview on my system but you should be able to create a menu ... Kmenu ->Configure Panel -> Menu Editor -> New Item name it something Appropriate "Gfontmenu-SU" command -> "kdesu /path/to/gfontmenu" and give it an icon if you like apply then create a button in your panel as usual good luck, -- dh I've been awake: 19 hours minutes Suse Linux 7.2 professional kernel 2.4.17, xFree86 4.2.0, kde 2.2.2
