Fwd: Re: [suse-kde] 3.1.4er rpms?
I do not think that a mistake when replying a message it is as annoying as posting a polite message and getting as answer an arrogant and inept reply - as happened to Filippos. If you, Ben, get annoyed so easily maybe you should seek professional help. And if some German posters have such a big problem with following the rules it would be advisable for the moderators to check this thing out. As well, this post is not directed towards Germans, but they are the only ones posting in their native language in an English mail list. I cannot see any messages in Bulgarian or Spanish!!! It's about rules and respecting the others! That's all! Ben & co, if you do not understand this, just forget the whole thing, please. br /radu

It is not bitching about the German: it's just so annoying that many of the German participants are unable to follow the rules!
There are quite a few greek guys around, what will this list become if they start posting in Greek? What about French, Italian and all the other languages? Who will understand what? It seems that everyone is able to follow the rules except some german guys ...
Also, posting in German isn't a 1/10th as annoying as someone who CC's with their reply. If one is on the list then there isn't any reason to CC them and the list. It's just a waste of bandwidth.

Ok. If it was a mistake then I apologize to you. But many on other SuSE lists do not see the rudeness in this behavior and justify it vigorously even though it's rude. You might not be on the SLE and other heavy trafficked lists so this might not irritate you. It does irritate me..it doesn't anger me and I don't need any help. I was just point out that one was more rude then the other.

The description on SuSE's web site says absolutely nothing about language so they just might not have known. The following is the description on the SuSE web site for the list. "Discussions about installing and using KDE on SuSE Linux" If one read that in German on the .de site..would you know what they rules were. I think not.

Consider it dropped after this email because you don't seem to understand what others and myself have said about "They might not have known and maybe their short reply was because of the language barrier..not rudeness." *shrug* latah, -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
On Saturday 20 September 2003 23:48: 1. The welcome message received when subscribing this list says that the language to be used is English. The welcome message is composed in english language, too. I doubt that the welcome message is different when accessing the list from the german site. 2. All the other participants make an effort the break the barrier language by posting in English. I looked at the recent postings and are a few guys posting in broken English and apologizing about it. This is respect! 3. In our case, rudeness is speaking in an open forum using a language that is not used by all the participants and ignoring the guidelines given when joining the forum. And, beside this, is building a barrier language instead of trying to communicate better. br /radu

Radu, I sympathised with your first post on that subject, but your insistence begins to be annoying. I think it's enough. By the way, sorry about my poor English. Toni (Spain) A Dissabte 20 Setembre 2003 23:14, Radu Pirvu va escriure:

A singular occurance would possibly be viewed as an error/mistake, but how would you view multiple occurances? Deliberate or careless or don't care? -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org
