I am able to print without problems from KDE apps to both a local and a network printer. The printer is hosted on another linux box running Mandrake but the Desktop is SuSE. I can try KMail later but this has not caused me any issues with both picture and text only output so far. If there is anything I can check in my configuration to help you let me know. -S

Yes, this has been happening here too for the last month - attempting to print from any KDE app crashes the app. OOo is Ok, so I haven't really looked into it yet, but I suspect some CUPS thing is missing. Print setup on 8.2 leaves something to be desired.
