Otto Werner

This mailing list talks english. Anyway. Did you also restore ~/.kde? It contains the kmailrc file... Mario

Note that 9.1 changed the UID numbers. Make sure your backup of Mail has the correct ownership. Also delete any .index files you have in your Mail directory

Thanx, but nothing changed. I copied the mails to a Partition, made chown otto ect. and copied them to /home/otto/Mail . Before I deleted all indexes. I also changed the kmailrc. To no avail. Maybe the last resort is windows-method :delete kdepim and fresh install. (-:(( otto

Then try this: rename both your mail directory and .kde directory. Try one at a time to see where your problem might be coming from. If by renaming and starting with a new directory when you next start Kmail, everything works correctly, you'll have your answer. There is still a bad file or permissions problem with a file/directory it uses. Lee -- --- KMail v1.6.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...

I tried at once : mv ~.kde ~.kde.old and new gui. All the same. Then I made mv ~.Mail ~.Mail.old. Also nothing changed, except when I copied the new emails from Mail.old to Mail they could not be seen at all. The old ones show there numbers, but the newest ones nothing at all. Nearly fascinating ! Also a new installation of kdepim had the same results.Maybe an import to any other mailclient is the solution. otto
